Michael Owusu Addo, born 10th of July, 1988, In Tema town of Ghana. He is the fourth child in his family. He started rapping at a tender age, which led him to grow vast in his career. He earned a degree in Graphics Design from IPMC. Sarkodie often raps in his native language Twi and he is known to be a “multifaceted rapper”

The Ghanaian superstar music act entered the lime light with his first single which was set to have built his fan base with his first single ‘Baby’ featuring Mugeez of duo group R2Bees.

After getting involved in various rap battles, the versatile rapper got himself some connections, like meeting his first manager Ducan Willams of Duncwill Entertainment. (Now former manager). The impression also made him record his successful debut album 'Makaye' and this paved way for him in Ghanaian music industry as one of the uprising stars with the finest of rich lyrical content. This album is of no doubt a way up for Sarkodie to set his name among the rising stars that revolved the tune of his fans globally.

The entertainer is always geared to a philosophy “if you fail to program your life, life will program you”. This has been the driving force for him to work hard and set a map with his new tune in the industry.

In 2012, the album “Rapperhollic” which  had the popular  “Goodbye”, ‘Onyame Nhyira’ as led singles was a hit that kept him on track and subsequently attracted numerous of awards for him. He was ranked the 19th most influential Ghanian by e.tv Ghana.

In October, 2013. He released the popular ‘You go kill me’ featuring the ever famous Bba Nla also known as Wizkid, Ice prince, Navio and El. This made his song no. 1 on various charts in Ghana. And also bringing much familiarity to his fans globally.

In January 2nd, 2014, his first album was lunched at the Accra sports stadium.
This drive pumped him to a number of nominations, nationwide, Africa and the world, which includes; Ghana music awards for best collaboration of the year and Best hip hop signs (2014) World Independent Award.

In 2013 he was ranked 8th most bankable artist Africa by Forbes Incorporation.

In 2015, AfricanRanking ranked him 3rd on its list of “top 10 Ghanaian rappers" of all times. Best Rap act, 2014 MTV Base Africa Music Awards.
